Where is "Fix My Return"? I opened my file and I can't find that tab. I have 2026 Desktop.
I assume i don't try and plug it in on the real property tax section. I live in VA and they require we pay personal prop taxes on vehicles, boats, RVs, etc,

You cannot take the home office deduction or deduct other unreimbursed business expenses like a computer, unless you are self-employed and report income and expenses on Schedule C.  If your patent award and other income is reported on Form W-2, as opposed to Form 1099-NEC, you cannot deduct those things.

I attempted the same option. I Exited Turbotax 2025 Desktop. I then restarted Turbotax 2025 Desktop.  I picked the same tax file for 2024 that would not open the previous time.  This time it asked me for the password, which it had not done before. I keyed it in and it Transferred the file correctly!!!   I was really worried like everyone else that this product was going to fail. At least at this point I am verifying information from last year.  Good Luck to everyone!

A lot goes on under the covers of the TT questionaire for the K-1 processing.  Seems to me the K-1 questionaire processed  sale should be the official one and not the modified 1099 import. My  1099 Import only contains the proceeds and no basis and no gain. Does it make sense 1) update the imported 1099 to have the basis = proceeds leaving no gain 2)  or zero out the proceeds, basis and gains and have  all 3 zero. Either way shows $0 gain and let the K-1 processing handle the adjusted cost basis and all the other info entered during the questionaire.  Any thought would be appreciated.

I bought a new computer and therefore need to install on this so I can work It op[ens the screen for downloads but does not let me download Did you buy the 2024 program last year or this year?   i.e., did you install it last year on the old computer, and now need to install it on the new computer?   Or would this be your first time to install it at all?    If you previously installed it on the old computer, do you not still have a copy of the downloaded installation file on the old computer?   If not, you should be able to re-download it on the new computer.   "It opens the screen for downloads but does not let me download."             How/where are you trying to download the 2024 program?   Are you trying to download it from inside your Intuit Account or are you trying to download it here: https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/install-turbotax/   If using that download page, it probably opens on the 2025 product, so choose the 2024 tab at the top right to get the downloads for 2024.   If you have any further problem please describe what "won't let me" means.   How is not letting you?   Is there any message?

Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities.  There is no rule as to which one will come in first or how long it will be between their arrival in your account.   TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst         If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund before early March   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US   Note:  “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”.  TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing.   Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing.  If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.   FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund How it works Where's My Refund shows your refund status: Return Received – We received your return and are processing it. Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown. Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. You should not  be using a check stub to prepare a tax return.  You need your W-2.   The amounts on a paystub will not match the amounts on the W-2 issued by the employer and reported by the employer to the IRS. W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it.  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.     Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts.  Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer.  You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.   ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.     Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2. After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/get-copy-w-2/L8FTim9MO_US_en_US?uid=m68ee4os   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/import-enter-w-2/L55HzdeDr_US_en_US?uid=m68efe36   And….SAVE YOUR OWN W-2!  TURBOTAX DOES NOT SAVE IT FOR YOU.  TurboTax will not have a copy of it in your account and will not have an image even if you snapped a photo or imported it.  It is up to you to save it for your own records as stated on the back of the W-2.            https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/income/help/what-if-it-s-february-but-i-still-don-t-have-my-w-2/00/25998
