I'm in Texas. I filed for an amended tax return and it was rejected twice. The original tax return was filed on 02/02/2025 and the amended was filed on 04/15/2025. Turbotax doesn't say why it was rejected. I wanted to changed my filing status from married filing separately to married filing joint. Please help me address the issue.

Go to Alaska fund appears to be a broken link from the TurboTax article here. Usually the help articles will give you a direct link for TurboTax Online so you can be brought directly to the correct page without having to navigate.
As a workaround for TurboTax Online, you can go directly to this 1099-MISC link to enter your Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend.

@tuanasuguner wrote: “We Won't Be Able to E-file Your Return Why? Well, it looks like you have a tax situation in the New York return that makes it ineligible for e-filing. Reason for e-file ineligibility: E-filing an amended return Form IT-201-X when IT-201 has not been e-filed. TurboTax does not support this information to be filed electronically.” These are what’s written on the page you directed me to—what should I do? This is getting more complicated. That appears to be a problem with the NY state return. Looks like you tried to efile an amended return for NY state when the original NY state return had not been efiled. How did you end up with an amended NY state return? Did you mistakenly start an amended NY return when the original NY return had not yet been filed at all? Or did you file the NY return previously by printing and mailing it, and then purposely started an amended return? As for the Federal, did you end up being able to efile your Federal return? i.e., if the Federal return had said "ready to mail" at the Tax Home, did you choose to print and mail the Federal, or did you change it to efile and successfully transmitted it? Also be aware that once you get the NY state issue untangled, you can only efile a NY state return at the same time as the Federal return, OR if the Federal return was efiled previously by itself, you can efile the NY state return by itself after an efiled Federal return has been accepted. NOTE: As for the filing deadline, it's fast approaching, so if you haven't yet filed an original return and can't do so today, you might have to file for an extension until you get this worked out. But you're also running out of time to get an extension. I don't work for TurboTax. I'm a fellow user, and only familiar with a couple of states, neither of which is NY. Sorry, I can't help you specifically with a New York state return and how to clear up that issue if you started a NY amended return by mistake. Someone might comment in this thread if they see it, but it's less likely. If needed, you can start a new forum thread with that New York issue in the title, and more people in the forum are likely to see it. Or you can phone TurboTax Support for realtime assistance, using the contact info below. Support hours are 5AM-9PM Pacific, every day this time of year. It's possible they may have extra hours tonight because of filing deadline, but I'm not sure. If you exercised and held ISOs in 2022 your 2023 tax return should have included a Form 8801 to carry the AMT credit forward from your 2022 return. If you didn't use your AMT credit in 2023 it would carry forward to 2024 on Form 8801. You do not enter a "negative bargain element" on your Form 6251 - there is no such thing. What you have is an AMT capital loss. You will need to file an amended 2023 return to include a Form 8801, and then carry that forward to 2024 to use your AMT credit.

Yes. If there was a charge on your bank account, that sometimes happens before a payment is approved for the state.
TurboTax would not hold off the processing fee that way.

If your account information is incorrect, you will need to set up your payment directly with the IRS. There is no way to change your account information once your return has been e-filed and accepted. Please see How can I pay my federal taxes?
For a state payment, you can most likely make it through your state's tax website, see How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?

Sigh. It's 2025 and I have the exact same question that multiple people raised in this message thread. Only one person said the amount was withdrawn from their account. Can anyone else confirm that the payment was taken out of their account, and if so, how long it took. And TurboTax folks, if you're listening, I'll echo what the last person to reply said: "TurboTax needs to do a better job in confirming the payments as well."
