W4, two jobs

Hi - thanks for being here today!

May I confirm that I am taking the correct actions?

In 2022, I had one part-time W4 job (24 hrs/week)

In 2023, I added a second part-time job (total 50-64 hrs/week between the two)

I didn't adjust my individual W4s to account for the new TOTAL gross income, and owed the IRS a big chunk of change for 2023.

For 2024:

I've increased federal withholdings.

I will use the Turbotax W4 calculator to confirm that I'm withholding enough in 2024.

** Is there anything else I should know or do?***

Thank you!

-Emily

W4, two jobs

Thank you for your question.   I think you are being prudent in your approach for 2024.  As an extra check make sure that the extra tax withholdings are slightly above the amounts in the two job tables, on page 3 of this link: Form W-4

Good job with all the work you have already done!
