Social Security

My wife currently receives SS (age 68).  I have not yet started taking SS (age 64).  If I start to take SS today/now would my wife be eligible for 50% of what my SS would pay today/now (or) would she receive 50% of "what I would get at age 67 (FRA)?

Social Security

Your wife would be eligible for 50% of what your SS would pay today/now, but only if your wife did not begin taking her own social security benefit prior to her full retirement age.  If she took early retirement benefits she will only be entitled to something less than 50% depending on what age she retired.  In any case she would be entitled to the greater of her own benefit or the spousal benefit.
