Social Security payments

For those of us filing on extensions, will our self-employed social security taxes still count toward the appropriate year? If we do not see it showing on the SS report, what are the options for getting it corrected?

Social Security payments

Hi, yes, once you file your tax return for the tax year, the IRS will report the information filed for self employment to the Social Security Administration.

If you believe your social security information is not reported correctly, you can contact the SSA and/or contact the IRS to share information needed to correct your social security reporting.
