I am a contracted massage therapist that works at an ayurvedic wellness retreat. Me and a couple of co-workers are looking into going to India to receive the treatment we do. Can I write this off as research, or something else?
I also have a office where I see clients. I am considering doing yoga teacher training to advise my clients on poses that would help them. Part of the training is revisiting anatomy. Can yoga school be a write-off for my business?
Thanks for the help!

As I understand you are a massage therapist and you are planning to go to India to receive the same treatment that you provide. I do not see that being eligible as a business expense. Recieving the same treatment there will not qualify as an education or training expense. Of course this will not qualify as a research expense either.
The yoga teacher training qualifies as a business expense because there you will be training in different yoga poses to teach your clients. It will enhance your skills for the services you provide.
Thank you for participating in our event Sumonthe move.
