Church Property

My husband is a pastor and president of a 501c3 - the church and ministry are on our personal property and we do not charge either rent.  Can we write off any property taxes?  Can we use the cost of what rent should be as a charitable donation to the organization?

Church Property

If you own property that you pay property taxes on, you can deduct property taxes on Form 1040, Schedule A for your personal property.  If this is a rental property, the property taxes are deducted on Schedule E.
