How can I fix my W-2 import issue?

If you imported a W-2, some pieces of information may be missing or were inaccurately entered during the data import process. To ensure your 2019 TurboTax return is accurate, please delete ALL your W-2s and then re-import them into your return before submitting your return to the IRS.

Do not e-file your return before Thursday, January 30, 11:59pm PST.

Follow these steps to delete and re-import your W-2s.

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax Online account and open your return.
  2. Select Federal from the left menu.
  3. Select Wages & Income from the top menu.
  4. Select Edit/Add next to Job (W-2).
  5. Select the trash can icon to remove the W-2.
  6. Answer Yes to the question Are you sure you want to delete this W-2?
  7. Repeat this process to delete all of your W-2s.
  8. Select the Add a W-2 button.
  9. Enter the EIN from your W-2 and select Continue.
  10. Select Import and confirm the accuracy of the important data.
    • If import is disabled, you will be prompted to manually enter your W-2.
  11. Repeat the above steps for all of your W-2s.

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax mobile app.
  2. Open or continue your return.

  4. Select Federal from the left menu.
  5. Select Job (W-2).

  9. Repeat this process to delete all of your W-2s.
  10. Select the Add a W-2 button.
  11. Enter the EIN, select Continue.
  12. Select Continue to import your W-2.
    • Or you can choose Skip Import and then manually enter your W-2 information.
