In order to increase your credit score, determine why your score is what it is.
Do you have derogatory credit?
Do you have large balances on your credit cards?
Have you used over 50% of your available credit? (Add all credit limits together, divide by 2. Add all credit card balances together, is this amount more or half of your available credit?)
Do you have limited credit?
Yes to derogatory? Call collection companies and see if you can settle on an amount to pay it off.
Yes to large balances? Pay them down.
Yes to 50%+ credit utilization? Pay it down.
Yes to limited credit? Open one new trade line (credit card, line of credit)
