There is a closed account under my name that still holds a balance. That balance has been paid off. I’m wondering if the account still holding a balance is affected my credit score?

Yes, it will adversely impact your credit score if there is a balance.

How can I have it reflect that it’s been paid off? Because it has been for over a year but still shows the last balance I had.
