Year for my 1098 T scholarship amount

Hi everyone!

Thanks to this forum, ive been able to get my taxes to a place that I think is correct. The only confusion I am having now, is when I look at my Education deductions summary, there are two columns one for 2019 and one for 2020. I entered in my 1098 T and the Expenses and Scholarship amount is showing up in the 2019 column rather than the 2020 column. Why??? If it helps, I am a graduate student funded with a fellowship.

Thank you!

I am not sure why that is happening, but it should not affect your 2020 tax return. You can view your federal form 1040 and schedule one to three while working in the online version of TurboTax by following these steps:

  1. Tools (left side of the menu bar)
  2. Tax Tools
  3. View Tax Summary
  4. Preview my 1040 (left menu bar)

You can see if your education credit shows properly on line 3 of schedule 3.
