What if I dont remember how much my books cost for my college classes?

The question is asking for the amount I spent on my books for classes, but I dont remember how much they were, what should I do?

Did you have $4000 of qualified expenses paid out of pocket or with loans without including your books? If so, you won't get any additional credit from the book expenses. Just leave them out. If you have less than $4000 of expenses without the books, do you have any bank or credit card statements that show the amounts paid? The IRS requires you to have receipts for your expenses to claim them.
