You have posted in the Education section of this forum. Therefore it's assumed that you are referring to a 1098-T for education, and not a 1098-Mortgage Interest Statement. Where you live has nothing to do with education stuff.

If this is pertaining to the mortgage interest statement, the 1098 is not required so long as you can prove what you claim to pay in mortgage interest if audited on it.
