Under screen entitled "Did [student] pay for books and materials to attend school?" where do we enter room and board (that were paid by a 529 plan)?

TurboTax (TT) will not give you the screen to enter room & board (R&B) unless you first enter the 1099-Q. This is because R&B are only qualified expenses for a 529 or ESA distribution.

If after entering the 1099-Q, TT will still not give you the R&B screen (it's on the same screen as books), you may have to delete the previously entered 1098-T and other expenses.
