You can deduct them if they are required for enrollment or attendance at an eligible school. Gym fees and technology fees may be required for enrollment (check with the school), but is parking really required for enrollment?
So i'm wondering a similar thing... I am a completely online Out-of-State student and I was charged $432 in parking fees. Are these fees still not deductible because I was charged them as part of being an enrolled student?
I do not think that parking fees qualify as an education expense. The IRS has excluded transportation costs from education expenses.
