sandylumberg,
The system should always let you enter a 1099-INT item manually and, indeed, I always do it that way. I recommend the following steps:
1) log out of TurboTax and restart your computer. This does clear up issues on occasion.
2) Get back into TurboTax and go to the Federal Taxes area and select the Wages & Income option.
3) Click "I'll choose what to work on" and select the "Interest on 1099-INT" option
4) At the screen "Let Us Enter your 1099-INT" choose the "I'll type it myself" option
5) Type in ENT Credit Union in the first box, and the interest income in the second box. (If you form has more than plain box 1 interest, check that box to reveal the other fields.)
Note that the interest figure ends up being rounded to the nearest dollar, so if your interest is less than 50 cents, it will show up as $0. If that gets a complaint, just go back and delete the ENT item.
I hope I haven't been completely recovering the ground of what you've done already...
