Qualified Education Expenses - 1098-T

My 2019 1098-T shows my scholarships and grants for 2019, but not the payments I made to my university because I had to pay for the Spring 2019 semester in November of 2018. Can I still report these expenses on my 2019 tax return? I used the 2019 grants and scholarship to pay for the 2019 semester..It's just not reflected on the 1098-T.

If you already claimed those expenses on 2018, you can't claim them again on 2019. Otherwise, you can but need a great paper trail.
