Yes, to be deductible, your expenses must be for education that either maintains or improves your job skills, or is required by your employer or by law to keep your salary, status or job.

To claim educational expenses, you must be employed at the time of payment

Expenses to learn a new trade or job or to qualify for a new career aren't deductible.

To enter your educational expenses:

To report vehicle expenses in TurboTax:

  • Type in 2106 in the search box, top right of your screen, then click the magnifying glass
  • Click the jump to 2106 link in the search results.
  • Follow the prompts and onscreen instructions

Yes, but if you are an employee the expense is a misc expense on Sch A.  So you have to itemize and the amount of misc expense has to be grater than 2% of AGI to deduct anything.
