I downloaded the turbotax app and followed the instructions to enter the informations needed. However, being done so I go to my bank account and see that the app has been purchased! They didn’t even ask for my credit/debit card number. How is the app purchased without even giving me a notice about it? They only asked me if I want to add extra 50$ for MAX and I said no, but even the deluxe it wasn’t stated that i had to purchase it. How can I stop this? Can I get my money back?
If you purchased one of the 2019 desktop editions you could NOT have downloaded the software until and unless you entered a credit card to make the purchase on this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/
If you are referring to the TurboTax online editions, you do NOT download anything. All the tax data is entered in the online web based software. If you complete the online return then you must go through the File section to complete and File the tax return. In Step 1 of the File section you are shown a Review of your account fees and then go to a screen where you either pay by credit card or pay with the federal tax refund. If you selected by credit card you MUST enter your credit card information to pay the TurobTax account fees, no other way.
To contact TurboTax customer service/support use their contact website during business hours. If the problem concerns any type of refund for fees, use the key words billing issues and do Not use the word Refund or you will get a phone number for tax refunds.
