Just a note to all RDPs in California and other community property states. Please remember that you can split your income with your partner on Form 8958 when you file your separate federal tax returns. This is a HUGE tax benefit if one partner makes more money than the other. I was the one who originally asked this question to TurboTax and with their help, I am now reaping the benefits of this income allocation by re-filing amended tax returns for years 2000-2022. Hallelujah!!!
