Which edition is required for a 1065 K1 form?

I am confused, because your marketing page at:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/tax-tips/Small-Business-Taxes/What-is-a-Schedule-K-1-Tax-Form-...

Which I reached from:
https://turbotax.intuit.com/lp/ty16/desktop/lp1.jsp#irs-forms

links to the deluxe version, but when I try to enter my K1 form online the website forcibly attempts to upsell me to the Premier edition. Can you please help me figure out why the advertised capability is missing from the deluxe edition? I can send a screenshot of the page I'm looking at which pointed me to the deluxe edition in the first place if you're interested.

Thanks,
Carl

The reason lies in the difference between the online program and the desktop (CD/Download) program.  In the desktop program, which is where your link is referenced from, you can enter a K-1 form in TurboTax Deluxe.  In the online program, which is where you tried to enter the K-1, you must have TurboTax Premier or Self Employed.

If you really meant to use the desktop program, you can use the link below to purchase and install that program on your computer.  If you want to switch to the desktop, let me know and I can give you instructions on how to move the work you have already done from online to desktop.

I appreciate the feedback, and will find another solution next year. Do you understand why I find it confusing that Intuit has two products marketed as "Turbotax Deluxe" with different capabilities?

Yes, I can definitely understand why it can be confusing, which is why I try to help clarify as much as I can whenever I can.  I really can't speak to why the marketing is the way it is - above me.  I do know the desktop program has been around much longer than the online one.  In the desktop, they can "fit" more into the package because its installed directly onto your computer, so thats why the capabilities differ.
