Hi! I used to live in WA, but I lived and worked in Hong Kong entire year of 2018. Should I enter my resident state WA? And how do I enter my wage as I don't have a W-2?

If you are still a resident of WA state then enter WA as your state of residence. Otherwise, you can choose Foreign or U.S. Possession.

Please see the instructions below on how to enter your foreign income:

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click "Take Me To My Return"
  3. Click "Federal" from the left side of your screen
  4. Scroll down to “Less Common Income” and click "Show more"
  5. Scroll down to “Foreign Earned Income and Exclusion” and click “Start
  6. Choose “A statement from my foreign employer (could be cash)” and click “Continue”.
  7. TurboTax will walk you through the questions.
