Closing Scorp

I am planning to close my S Corp in 2021. Do I need to mark my 2020 return as the final return or do I need to wait for the 2021 tax year to end before I can file my final return?

If I do need to wait for the current tax year to end, then how do I notify IRS or state at the time of closing?

technically the return is due by the 15th day of the 3rd month following the month it's closed. close in April due July 15.

to do the returns you use the 2020 software and enter the fiscal year dates. don't know if you can e-file it, but I wouldn't. 

do not use the actual 2020 return, you'll overwrite the file.
