When calculating the number of miles driven for business, what is the correct way to handle a scenario in which I drove to a store to buy something for the business, but also picked up something for personal use? Does the business mileage end upon arrival at the store, or is it based on the % cost of what I bought for business vs personal, or something else?

You do not need to reduce the miles because you purchased personal items in the same trip as business items.
You would not have saved any miles if you made two trips, so the milage to get to the store and back would all be business miles.
The start and end of the trip needs to be from the business to the business, so the trip would need to originate from the place of business or home office and end at a business location or home office.
