CA FORM 593 CAN'T MODIFY REMITTER INFO

The Form 593 that I received has the escrow co name as REMITTER but Turbotax enters my name as default and won't allow change. How can I fix this?

CA FORM 593 CAN'T MODIFY REMITTER INFO

You do not need to fix Form 593.

When entering your information in TurboTax for Form 593, all of your entries will be made directly within the state interview section for your California return.

  1. On the screen titled "Take a look at California credits and taxes," scroll down to the section titled Payments and withholding, and select start/revisit to the right of Real Estate and Other Withholding.
  2. Proceed through the screens until you see the screen titled "Any Real Estate or Other Withholding Forms."  Select yes.
  3. On the next screen, select the box to the left of 593 Real Estate Withholding Tax Statement and select Continue.
  4. The next page will show you the Real Estate Withholding Tax Statement.  Under Part 1, this is where the Remitted Information is reported and will be to be entered manually by you.  See the screenshot below.  You will need to complete Part 1 to match Form 593 as reported to you.
  5. Your personal information will appear under Part II - Seller/Transferor Info and will pull in from your personal information as entered in TurboTax.
  6. Proceed to fill out the form to match what is reported on your hard copy of Form 593.  Your entries here will pull into your California state return as applicable.
