I have tried filing over and over. I am given the reject code IND-032-04 which is not true and told to send the forms in by mail. I paid for turbotax and an extra $20 to file state electronically. I feel that I've been sold a bill of goods.

Exhausted.  It was a long process that I would never be able to do with TT.  Much of this process seems over my head.  So glad it is over for another year.

The tax form was filed and it would not let it go through without some credit on it. The IRS said Turbo tax erred --no credit should have been allowed.  So now payment instead of credit but the big thing is besides the failure of this software how do you get an accurate file of what actually it should have been?  TT sucks. ALLOW the user to actually have a brain to say NO.

I have found TT extremely disappointing this year. Many of the assists offered in previous versions such as being able to trace the source of data entries are absent. Most frustrating is the poor quality of customer service. Too many specialists-- and even their on-call resources-- do not know even the basics of how to use the forms. I have had to make multiple calls before assured that an answer was correct. There are also long hold times as specialists attempt to figure out what to do. It is then necessary to guide them along to a point at which your hope they can assist. But such efforts are often futile. It may help, however, to try to simplify and reframe the problem so that I have been able to solve it in the time kept on hold. When some specialists do not have a clue they sometimes turn over the call-- even without explanation - to paid tax assistance and even just terminate the call! Others rely upon information provided by the TT community response without any certainty that it is reliable. Another specialist got rid of me by emailing a totally irrelevant attachment which could not be opened.

Now my e-file has been rejected on the basis of a form 1116 problem which I was assured by 4  TT specialists would not happen! I will need to follow up on this. I dread having to go through endless calls before I have a solid answer.

Perhaps taxes have become too complex for TT to assist with? Is there a shortage of associates to supply customer assistance? I am sad to see what has been an impressive service now in an apparent state of decline.

It is a cumbersome process

This year, as I was getting ready to file my taxes, I was surprisingly calm, cool, and collected. I've been filing with turbo tax for several years in a row now so I had confidence in filing. Every year TT makes it so easy no matter my tax situation (which has changed numerous times).

I feel so relieved. I do admit, i waited til last minute… bad on my part. But it’s done and they were both accepted and now I’m feeling less worried.

Have been using TT for over 10 years. First year using State tax e-file and pay the extra $20. No need to print out and send it in the mail. It's a relief. Also first time filing in February instead of March. Still have the feeling if I need to work on my taxes and then realized I already filed. LOL.

I'm a long-time user of the TurboTax tool and appreciate its ease of use with even the most complex (for us) of filings.   The view choices are easy to navigate.  The Forms view is manifest all sources for entries in the final 1040 with drill downs documenting calculations.  I'll be using the tool again next year.

This software is not user friendly. Why would I have to enter my bank info for a direct debit and then have to print out a page and send it in with a check?

Since I didn't get a refund, and didn't lend the government any of my money this year at least $100  is winning with TURBOTAX, wouldn't that be sweet? Always a relief to be done filing and have those dreaded taxes and estimates paid till we meet again next year.

Second year filing with TurboTax, and second year I've been flagged for ID verification. I thought the first year was a fluke due to Covid or something (took me 4 months last year to resolve, and Turbo Tax charged me before I got my refund and offered no help), but decided to give them a second chance. I wish I hadn't.  Got flagged again, was offered no alternative solutions, and finally had to visit my local IRS office to help straighten out. No refund yet, but Turbo Tax just sent me my bill they informed me they will "take" out of my personal account by the end of April.  They didn't even ask why I haven't gotten my refund yet. Again, offered no help from the Help Desk, just "Sorry, but you owe us money". And "Free Free Free" is false advertising. If you are on SS, it is never free. I will never use Turbo Tax again.

The worst. I got 1000 less than turbo said I even check 2 other tax places and they say I did not qualify for that credit but turbo said yes and irs said no so they have wrong info or the just lie to get customers

The feeling of having my taxes filed is stress relief.  I am also very confident using Turbo Tax as our source of filing.  We have been using Turbo Tax for years, it is nice to walk through the process step-by-step.  I know that every area of tax information has been covered and the deductions have been covered.  Turbo Tax is a secure way to complete your taxes.

My wife and I filed back at the beginning of February and we couldn't e file probably because of her name change. We are just patiently waiting for our tax return and praying that next year we can e file and save all this hassle 😑

Turbotax seemed much more repetitive this year.   Information from the federal return could have been transferred to the state return instead of having to enter it again.

I didn't know having more than 1 job in a year was a bad thing. I'm sad I'm having to pay out of pocket (can't take out of return) to file my taxes. At least filing through turbo tax is easy i guess, I really hope i win this $100. Thanks again for all the help and tips Turbo, I don't feel like this is much different than going anywhere else.

I've been using TT for years and this year I had to pay a chunk for answers not even worth the money I paid. I'm happy as I don't have to worry about it. I always file early in the year. If you're going to start charging us now. At least you better make sure it's worth it. They make you need customer service which isn't right. Some people don't have the money for this fee and need every penny. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves I'm not happy at all. Then they make you sign up when I already am a user. I'm very disappointed. I won't be recommending anymore!

Feel SCAMMED when VA State e-file process fails w conditions inapplicable to me. TT alerts about failure but after charging State Fee & then allows only by 'Mail'. So, why charge me for 'State E-File'? Pls refund my State e-file $49. This charge qualifies for Credit Card dispute. You bet.

Have used TurboTax for over 10 years.  It used to be a really good tax software.  Over the years the quality has continued to decline.  I upgraded from Deluxe to Home and Business for 2021.  There were so many errors it has made me lose confidence in the accuracy of the software.  The largest problem was the transfer of data from Deluxe 2020 to Home and Business 2021.  State taxes, taxable income, AGI, QBI, charitable contributions, all were transferred over incorrectly or not transferred at all.  The Tax Help option was pretty worthless.  Most of what I searched on produced totally unrelated results. Data Source unavailable for many boxes.  It took me 3 times as long to do my taxes this year because of all the time it took correcting mistakes and searching for information.  Really, really poor quality control of the product.  I have always been confident that my risks of audits were low.  I don't have that confidence for my 2021 returns.  Will definitely search for other tax software options for 2022.  Really disappointing.

Help!

I need technical assistance.  I downloaded two TurboTax deluxe packages.  When launched the first package I was able to complete the Federal Taxes but cannot launch the state software package.  Could someone please help?

Relieved that’s how I feel! Lol

Every year I wait till the very end to file and I patiently wait for a return, as I did this year too. Yes, changes can/will be made and that can be such a drag but for the most part, it was fast, easy and it’s finally done. Now, we grind until it’s time to do it all over again. See you next year!

It was easy to use, until I became confused about some of the items it was asking about. It took me approximately a week of going back to it before I was confident enough to submit it. Then I got an error about it being incomplete, so I would go back through. Don't know what I did different the last time but it went thru finally with a turbo tax experts guidance. I felt like a huge weight was liffted off of me when it finally submitted. Thank you Turbo Tax

Maybe it is just me, but the links between data entries for the federal return were not explained, highlighted, nor detailed so that connection was often missed by myself the first time thorugh.  Best example I can come up with since it is fresh in my memory are the medical deductions.   For federal did not enter any medical cost data since I know the threshold percentage would not be reach.  In fact, I used standard deduction.  However, the threshold for my state was much different.  As a result, there were a number of medical deductions that helped lower my state tax.  I recommend that for each deduction category, anywhere that the deduction cost data should be entered for potential benefit on one's state taxes, TT should highlight that fact and encourage user to enter the details, which can be time-consuming, for the benefit of reducing state taxes.

Hope this help improve the user experience with 2022 version of TT.

I feel extremely relieved. Mostly because this year a lot of my life has changed and is still changing quickly. For example, I'm going to college this year and also buying a motorcycle to go to school.

Glad it is done. Surprised by the extra fee for TT to file my single state return, which I think is a change from previous years (I have been using the same level each year). A little annoyed by the process of choosing and paying that fee and feel a little misled by the confusing descriptions of what that fee would be, and also annoyed because I had to go back and redo the end of the return so as not to pay an extra extra fee, and the software kept kicking me out - as though to frustrate me enough to get me to agree to the 2nd extra fee, which I would not do.

It didn't seem to me that filling in the return was quite as easy this year as in previous years, or that the online explanations were as straightforward. But because of previous years' experience w/TT, I feel relatively confident that my returns will be accepted and that everything will go smoothly from here out.

While doing my 2021 taxes, TurboTax asked if my W-2 box 12 has an amount, it does, then it gave me these messages:

"You may want to withdraw money from your HSAs"

"It looks like you have an excess contribution of $2,977 This amount is being taxed an extra 6%"

"But, anything withdrawn between January 1st and April 18, 2022 avoids this additional tax"

I tried contacting the IRS with no success. Can someone assist, please?

Thank you in advance.

Filed both state and federal taxes using TurboTax.  We've used TurboTax for years. I file for myself and spouse and our son and daughter-in-law. This year the kids returns were rejected 3 times due to missing information. regarding a tax credit on an Affordable Care Act account. This was totally our fault, not TurboTax.  We finally got the information and the returns were accepted.  I had used my credit card to pay the federal tax due so we could file before April 18. My credit card account showed the amounts on all three of the rejections ($3,000+). After the returns were accepted I dreaded having to deal with getting the charges off my card.  I am glad to say that I ended up not having to do anything. All the charges from the rejected returns had already been removed!   Thank you, TurboTax, for not creating a mess for me to fix.   Turbo Tax is a wonderful tool. I've found that any problems I have faced are user error and not a Turbo Tax error. We used a national firm to do our taxes when we first returned from overseas (military family) in the late 90s.  The next year I was looking over the previous year's return and noticed some obvious errors. I was our unit's tax assistant for a couple of years overseas, so I knew about filing.  We decided to start using TurboTax, starting with filing a corrected return.  We had some complicated tax years but Turbo Tax saw us through.  I always recommend Turbo Tax to others.

After the wonderful feeling of completing my taxes early, in March, using TurboTax, with the assistance of your very kind and clever staff, I waited only a few weeks,  and lo and behold, at least part of my refund was posted today. I was glad to be able to call and verify the amount of the refund.

This was comforting, since the fee I agreed to pay TurboTax was much less than what apparently has been deducted. I look forward to resolving this issue with your competent and conscientious staff.

I have used TurboTax for quite a few years now, and expect the best each time. Updates, upgrades, and specific help for my tax situation. Such a good feeling. Even my solar tax credit was something you could handle efficiently! Thanks and keep up the good work! But could someone please tell me what happened to that extra $1300. of my refund? Maybe the IRS is paying it in installments? ?

Happy Tax Season! I have peace of mind that few others I know who don't use TurboTax don't have.

After getting my federal returns rejected 8 times for not entering the correct AGI from last year's returns (even though it was correct!!), I finally got through to the IRS (1 hour and 50 minute wait). The wait was so long that when I got bored waiting for them to answer, I took my mobile phone to the pharmacy and got my refills, drove to the UPS Store and mailed my package and checked my mail (bonus I got a package), and drove home. Still on hold, I de-rigged my sailboat from yesterdays race, folded and stored the sails, the rudder, the daggerboard, and measured/recorded the dimensions for my broken boom, took the boats off the trailer and propped one up to drain the water. Still on hold, walked up to my home on the third floor and cooked dinner. OK enough of that. The IRS finally came on the phone and after explaining, she politely said, just change your AGI to 0. I did and my tax returns were accepted on the next try. Please share this info for when I called Turvotax, they did not know of this solution. @Efilereject @rejectedfiling @AGIincorrect
