Saw a similar post from 2021 with the exact same problem, the only response was to do the amended return manually. Unfortunately, that still doesn't explain why this is happening and if there is any other way around it. Tried the typical hints and it made no difference. I don't think I was signed in to Intuit when doing the original return or working on the amended. Shouldn't matter anyway, as once the software was downloaded to Windows and licensed properly we don't need to sign in to Intuit. Is there no other workaround? Screenshots attached.

Before starting AMEND, you must be in the return you originally filed with TurboTax, as filed, and was ACCEPTED.
If your 1040-X is correct already, you can file by US Mail.

Thanks for your response. My first attachment showed that I was definitely in the appropriate return, as it showed me elsewhere what was the new amount due, and said here that the original return was already accepted. 2nd attachment shows where it somehow 'believes' that I hadn't already filed my original thru TTax. Still no responses as to how this can occur. Since I've had to amend each year from 2021-2023 due to financial company mess-ups, I've had no problem doing it via e-file until now. If you've got advice for the minimum amount of forms I need to send in manually (in case I have to do it that way), I'd be happy to listen.
How to File:
Do not include your old 1040 nor your revised 1040 because the Form 1040-X reflects any changes there and becomes your new tax return.
Include any new/corrected tax document only if it shows federal tax withheld, and include in order only those Sequence Numbered tax forms and schedules that changed or were added due to your amendment.
Attachment Sequence Number is on all the forms and schedules that come after 1040.
If you are using TurboTax you have to do this by careful visual comparison. The program won't break out those pages for you.
If your amendment dropped a form, you should explain why in Part II Explanation .
---
If any forms specify an attachment, put all those attachments at the end in the same order as the forms they go with.
---
Penalties:
1040-x Line 16: Subtract any penalty from the amount you owe reported on original 1040.
Don't try to include, but ignore, any new or changed penalty.
IRS will calculate your new penalty on their own and will bill you.
---
Mail to the address shown for your location in the most recent Instructions for Form 1040-X.
To be specific, I only owe an additional $7, as a result of an increased Dividend amount. I know only the 1040-X is needed along with corrected/changed forms, but since the corrected 1099 amount is only referenced on the first 3 pages, do I need to send in all 10 pages of that 1099? Otherwise, I should be good.
