received corrected 1099 after filing

The brokeraged sent a corrected 1099 Div after we already filed the original return with the IRS. It added an new box. The next amount of tax effect is zero - no additional taxes due. Do we need to file an amended tax return  for this? (The extra amount is less than $25 and is a "Box 3 Nondividend distribution".  )

Do we file amended return so the IRS can see we reported all this information for the affected 1099 even though no tax effect?

No, you do not need to file an amended return in this situation.  There would be no effect on the tax return and the amended return would be reporting no change.  Keep the corrected form for your records.
