The bank account information for TurboTax filers is transmitted to the IRS as a part of the tax return. The IRS has the appropriate banking information for all TurboTax filers, which can be used by them to distribute stimulus payments. i am surprised to hear this. i am confused however because when i phone in ...the card prompt offers direct deposit and gives the routing number and account number of green dot bank. sooooo why give out this info if it can not be used for the stimulus payment . it specifically mentions the stimulus and the ability for direct deposit???????
if thats the case, stimulus cannot be added to visa card then why does the teleprompt from the visa card tell us the account number and routing number for direct deposit for stimulus checks . thats misleading
This was an inaccurate answer from @MinhT1 , given before the stimulus deposits began. I would assume the information she/other employees were given at the time was incorrect. Anyway, thousands of people received their stimulus deposits on the Turbo Card on the 15th, and it functions no differently than any other prepaid Green Dot card. That card will work just fine for putting in the "Get My Payment" tool and receiving your Stimulus Payment on.
