Tax Year Prior to 2020: If we filed with TurboTax, does the IRS have our bank information to have the stimulus direct deposited? Will we me the mailed recipients of the check?

That is true if a dependent is 17 or older you can't claim them but what if you had dependents under the age of 17? Shouldn't you get a return for them?

For the record, my stimulus just showed up on my Bluebird (American Express) prepaid card, which I used for my 2018 return. (I didn't finish my 2019 return till a week ago Sunday; my refund was approved Friday with a DDD of 4/15 but hasn't hit my Varo account yet.) Though I didn't use SBTPG either year (I always use the IRS Free File version of TurboTax so I don't have any fees or advances to repay), that at least proves stimulus money is going to prepaid cards the same as to regular bank accounts. (Edit: And if you were tardy filing for 2019 like I was, try looking where your 2018 refund went to.)

This happened to me several years ago and I didn't get my refund until almost Thanksgiving. Then I was audited for the next 5yrs. Went through this for a while. Good luck

This is terrible. I spent almost an a hour on the phone Saturday night with Turbo Tax and because I made a mistake when I e-filed by putting my wrong account info they mailed me my refund check because my bank rejected it due to my last name being my maiden name which is not what's on my ss card, but it was no rush for the money then but now I can't fix my info for direct deposit for the stimulus check because you can't update your information with Turbo Tax once you have already received your refund which is a bunch of crock because I paid 100 bucks to have their assistance throughout the year but they say there is nothing I can do but wait for my stimulus to be mailed...😔

I also got a letter telling me I had to prove everything I was supposed to get back $7745. I looked at what would happen if I didn't claim my children and it said I would owe over $5k. How that's possible idk probably why I'm not an accountant.
