TurboTax really screwed up on this one and I do not believe they have fixed it. TurboTax populates lines 11b-23b of form 8962 Premium Tax Credit solely based on what you enter for the 1095-A lines 21b-33b that was sent by the healthcare marketplace. The issue is that in certain circumstances as explained in the "Instructions for Form 8962" the SLCSP premium may not be accurately reflected on Form 1095-A. Therefore the form 8962 line 10 directs you to "check the No box and continue to lines 12 through 23." TurboTax does not ask if the SLCSP premium on Form 1095-A is missing or incorrect so we don't have the option to check "No" and moved to lines 12-23 and skip line 11. This is a huge mistake by TurboTax to miss the instructions for form 8962. H&R block DID NOT miss this. They ask the correct questions after entering 1095A to lead you to the healthcare tax tool to calculate the correct number SLCSP.
