It sounds like you saw a generic list of possibilities as to why the Recovery Rebate Credit was adjusted. Wait for an actual letter from the IRS that is specific to your situation. They do not notify TT. Also see:

Downloaded the NY 1099-G form and found the amount matching with the New York State Inflation Refund Check I received in 2025. Does it mean the amount is taxable for Federal? Am I supposed to file it under Other 1099-G Income in the 1099-MISC section?
