Oklahoma Return is processed Refund is Pending Approval

When my Return is “tracked” on the oklahoma tax commission website I get a code that says   "Your return has been processed and your refund is pending approval. Please allow 6 weeks for electronic and 12 weeks for paper returns to process"

This is completely normal and part of Oklahoma's standard verification procedures.

When you see "refund is pending approval", it means the Oklahoma Tax Commission has received and processed your return, but they're doing some additional verification before releasing your refund. This extra step helps prevent fraud and ensure accuracy.

The state of Oklahoma allows up to 6 weeks of processing if you file online and request your refund to be direct deposited to your bank account. This timeframe is typical for Oklahoma state tax refunds. While waiting, you can continue checking your status on the Oklahoma Tax Commission website.

After 6 weeks, if you haven't received your refund you can contact the Oklahoma Tax Commission directly for an update.
