No new updates, WMR still says "no income tax filed"..no notification to verify....transcript still says "zero", so no code..paid upfront so no account on TPG...this is all frustrating and confusing..I've been using TT for over 10yrs w/ no issues until this year, I might use a different platform next year.

You first need to determine if the return was actually filed.   Did you efile?   If so, and if the IRS WMR tool cannot find any information, then you need to be sure your efiled return was accepted.    Did you use Online TurboTax?   If so, when you log in and go to the Tax Home, what is displayed for the efile status--does it say accepted, rejected , ready to mail, or what?

If your efile was accepted, here are some tips when using the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool:

https://www.irs.gov/Refunds

  • Be sure you have waited at least 24 hours after acceptance before using the IRS WMR tool.
  • Be sure you enter the correct SSN and filing status.
  • Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount.   Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a screen.
  • Also be sure you are using the Federal amount before any TurboTax fees are taken out (if you chose that option.)
  • Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
  • You can also try phoning the IRS refund hotline.  I've seen it work for some users when the WMR tool didn't.  800-829-1954  But, again, that won't work either if your efiled return was not accepted.  So that's the first thing you need to check.

I'm kinda hesitant to suggest anything else, since it might be something you already know.

In any case, I still don't know if your efiled return was accepted or not, since you didn't say either in your original post or your response.   If you have confirmed that it was accepted, then look at your actual Form 1040, Line 35a, as you know.

Otherwise, see if anyone else adds on to the thread during the day today..  But even then, anyone else is also going to need to know if the efiled return was accepted or rejected, because as you know, that's the most important part of this scenario.

Not to be rude or funny or anything, but I wouldn't be on here if my return was rejected, it was ACCEPTED on 01/29
