do I still had to pay $1,700 + to government Federal  that owe them or  does the $10,000 cover that?

After I already filed.

You will have to wait until we have the software updated to reflect how your return will be affected.

 

Since you have already filed your return, IRS is asking that people do not file an amended return.  Wait for further guidance on how the best way will be to handle it.

 

IRS is very busy trying to update their tax code with the new law, figure out how to handle it in their systems and then, once that falls into place, how to guide the software developers to change their software to implement the new law.

 

IRS is still processing 2019 paper filed federal returns.
