You should not change it; enter as it is so it matches what the IRS received. If your employer gave you income not on your w-2, you can indicate that when you enter the 1099-NEC. TurboTax will generate Form 8919. All of your income received from that employer should be on your w-2 - all of it; none should be on a Form 1099-nec - you can't be an employee and a contractor to the same company.
Hi Dawn C,
Thanks for responding. I should have clarified my question better. I received a 1099-NEC which is incorrect but I know the correct amount. I am not an employee for this organization so I receive a 1099-NEC and not a W-2.
You will need to contact the company that issued the form and request that they correct the amount.
