Is virginia supposed to get an extra child tax credit for year 2023 in 2024? I have 4 dependents and all of them say they qualify, but didn't receive full amount for them

Wanting to know if we will receive more money for the child tax credit and if so when.

For your federal return, the Child Tax Credit is $2000 for each dependent under the age of 17.   It is $500 for dependents 17 or older.  

For your Virginia tax return, the Child Tax Credit is $3000 for one child, but the max is $6000 (2 or more children), so there is nothing additional for the 3rd and 4th child.
