Is it taking 2 1/2 months for Federal refunds to come back for everyone?

Where's my Refund has stated processing for 2 months, why is it taking so long?

The IRS is extremely backlogged and is experiencing delays. It is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue refunds for some 2020 tax returns that require review including incorrect Recovery Rebate Credit amounts, or that used 2019 income to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC).

It’s been more than three months and I have not received my federal refund they sent me a email that it was excepted what happened

The thing is, refunds not in those categories are also tied up, for no apparent reason.

I've begun to think IRS is holding my return for Form 5498 which won't be sent to IRS until June 30.
