If i filled a casualties or thefts does it take longer to get approved I filed on the 24th of Jan and it still at step 1

I filled Jan 24 I also filled a casualty due to hurricane it's almost a mon ago that I filed and where I check the its website it says it is being processed is there a reason why

No one knows what the IRS looks at when you file a return so one can only speculate however millions will have the casualty loss on their returns this year so who knows what the IRS will do with those this year.  All you can do is wait patiently and check the IRS site once a day for your progress ...
