I want to amend 2022 federal return to add credit for AMT paid in prior year but the desktop software won't allow me to add relevant 2021 information??

contact support. if you used the free edition in 2022, that did not and does not allow for AMT credit carryover from prior year, so you may have to upgrade.

if you are using another version, this is what solved another user's issue with the 8801

"Ok, I fixed it! I had to go to Delete Forms under Tax Tools. There was a Form 8801 in there (even though it wasn't showing up in my tax return). I deleted it. It appears to have regenerated it and fixed whatever bug it got itself into."
