First, you should check your e-file status using the TurboTax E-File
Status Lookup Tool.
If your status states 'ready to mail' that means you have not e-filed your return and you have chose to mail in your return. If you have not mailed in your return you can change the filing method back to e-file (unless your tax situation does not allow you to e-file) Also before you e-file you can make changes to your return. Please take the following steps to get back into your return.
- In TurboTax Online, sign into your account.
- From the Welcome home box on the left, Click on Visit My Tax Timeline below the Download/print return button.
- Under SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO click on Add a state. (You are not adding a state to your return. By choosing this option it will allow us to open up your return.)
- Make the changes necessary and then proceed to the File tab and proceed to file your tax return. You may see the following FAQ article for instructions to switch your filing method.
