I reported the W2 tax withholding as 3099. VA came back with a correction to 1299, yet it is 3099 on the W2 and TurboTax made no correction

Respond back to the state with a copy of the W2 form showing your amount is correct ... start by calling the phone number on the notice to see if this can be fixed that way.
