I made an amendment to my 2017 tax return the same day it was accepted by the IRS. How can I check if I finished the amendment and whether or not it is processing?

Your amended return has to be printed out and mailed. You can't e-file, so it's not processing.

Since your return has been accepted by the IRS, wait until you either receive your refund or (if you owed money) until your check has cleared or the money has been debited from your account.

Then you can amend your return. The following is an FAQ with a link to the amend instructions, but as you can see, at this point the 2017 instructions won’t be available until later this month or early February, so keep checking back.
