I just now did an amended 1040X for last year (2017). I also finished my 1040 for this year (2018). Should I file my 2017 1040x and my 2018 1040 in the same envelope?

No, do not send your returns together. You should send them in separate envelopes with tracking so you have confirmation they were each received.
