I have a “correction” letter from IRS informing me we owe $919

... due to misreporting SS benefits and leaving off a dividend labeled “exempt”. I’m suspecting I just pay the amount billed.

If you agree with the IRS's corrections listed in the letter, then you can pay the amount billed and the matter will be solved.

If you disagree with the corrections, you must write a reply letter by the date indicated on the IRS letter, explaining the reasons why you disagree with the corrections and attaching any documents you may have to prove your claims,

I’m wondering if Turbotax might’ve been expected to catch my error. When it reviewed my return, shouldn’t TurboTax have noted that the SS amount was lower than in 2015 with the same filing status?
