I filed my taxes prior to the 4/15 deadline, and my federal return was accepted by the IRS. I owed tax due on my return but do not see a debit on my account. Normal?

When should I expect my account to be debited, or should it have been already?  I don't want to be responsible for a fine dur to unpaid taxes when I filed on time.

if your banking info was correct and there are sufficient funds, then the IRS cannot impose penalties for late payment.

only an efiled return can request direct debit. it's a selection in the info worksheet
