I chose direct deposit for my taxes and was sent a card. Does the irs have the card information you sent me to get my taxes direct deposit on it?

No one here has access to your return, but I assume you got a new TurboTax-issued card (NetSpend). If so, Intuit supplied the IRS with either your new card's routing & account number, or if you elected the "refund processing service" (pay fees from refund), a special routing & account number supplied by Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG) who will receive the refund, deduct the fees, and forward the balance to your card within 1-2 business days after they get it from the IRS. Either way, the refund should be on your card shortly after the IRS issues it.

Since this got a thumbs-up in the new tax year, I should note that for 2018 TurboTax has changed its prepaid card vendor to Green Dot (Turbo Prepaid Visa Card). However, the process remains the same: Intuit still supplies your new card's routing & account number to the IRS or SBTPG, as appropriate. The only change in timing is that Green Dot credits direct deposits early, so you may get it slightly faster especially if SBTPG is *not* involved.

I did direct deposit this year with Green Dot, IRS released my refund on 27 Feb 19 and I'm still waiting for my TurboTax Preapaid Card to be loaded. It's really frustrating because all the phone numbers provided takes you to an automated system that tells you if not loaded to check with IRS. However IRS released the refund to Green Dot and there is no way to speak with a person to find out what is going on.  This has been a very bad experience, one I though would be so much better.
