I cannot cash, nor deposit, refund check in both my and deceased wife's name, because I endorsed it. I need to file Survivor's Affidavit DTF-281. How do I do this?

New York sent a refund check made out to my deceased wife and me.  I endorsed the check.  The bank will not accept the check without my wife's signature.  She cannot sign from the grave.

I thank you for this web address.  It is very helpful.  I also give thanks to Bruiser_999.  He/She tried to help, but, unfortunately, my bank would not accept the check, with or without proof of demise.

Should be ok to go if you endorse with a copy of wifes death certificate.
