I amended my return before my original was processed!

Help!!!

I forgot to add in 1099 income to my original refund. Due to the tax delays this year, I assumed my refund was delayed due to my error. After consulting with TurboTax advisors, I was told to amend it, so I did. I e-filed my amendment on 02/20, and my original refund went into processing 02/23. I got the 570 code, then the following week it showed my amended tax return on my transcript. This week there is no change. I was told that my amendment would not affect the processing of my original return, but it has done just that. 

What is the timeline going to look like to receive my return? Will I have to wait the 16-20+ weeks now?  I’m so irritated. I am aware now not to amend until after my original has processed, but I am in dire need of this return.
