How can I correct an answer on Form 8889-T? My return will not submit until I make a change. Fee has already been paid.

Apparently I answered a question incorrectly at the beginning. It is telling me that Line 12 line B should be 0. No excess employee contributions.

Form 8889: Health Savings Account (HSA) is used to report HSA contributions, distributions, and withdrawals.

TurboTax will automatically fill out Form 8889 if you and/or your employer contributed to an HSA (usually indicated by code W in box 12 of the W-2), if you used funds in your HSA (reported on Form 1099-SA), or if you inherited an HSA. Make sure not to enter the amount reported already on your W-2 box 12 code W somewhere else on your tax return.

To revisit that section and to correct your entries:

  1. Open (continue) your return in TurboTax
  2. In the search bar, search for Form 8889 and select the Jump to link in the search results
  3. Select Edit on the screen Your HSA summary
